From the delightfully wavy hair, to the apparent indifference to being under water, I very much enjoy this picture. I absolutely love the expression and the madness it conveys.

I get a very dark tone from this image, one that contrasts powerfully against the bright imagery. Was such a tone your intent? It seems it may have been, judging from the title.

Yanimae responds:

By tone, I presume you mean something evil is about to take place in this image? ahaha

It wasn't my intention but with the title, I can see how that comes across as such. It was supposed to be more light-hearted than anything :U

What a waste of candy.

This is very well done, from the lovely outfit design to the sullen background laden with splatters.
Your colors are bold, and are blended very nicely. Everything is so shiny; it's quite the juxtaposition to the background. Anatomy seems pretty solid. The eyes are a little on the large side, making the forehead a bit small.

All in all, the whole piece just feels very solid.

xxanemia responds:

Thank you! oh no, i guess her forehead is a bit small... oops D:

It's tough to be a ghost clown

I really like your line art in this piece; it's pretty solid. But what's even better is your coloring. It still has the wild colors of your other works, but it's not nearly as busy. I also like the outfit you've put together. Nice job.

TheZen responds:

Im glad you enjoy it!

.

Nice

Does the character's name who this is not supposed to look like perhaps begin with the letter T?

The head and face are well done. The shoulders may be a bit too broad, but preference definitely plays a role in that area. Also, at the angle he is standing, I believe his right arm would be in front of his torso.

The eyes seem to be shaded well. :)

^^...no...It's Ryoma Echizen from Prince of Tennis.

Thank you. I have lost words to compliment your critique mind.

Doubt truth to be a liar

This is such a lovely picture; it depicts a wonderful blend of serenity and madness. It brings to mind characters such as the lady of Shalott or Ophelia.

The anatomy is very natural as well.

DoctorDeathDefying responds:

Thanks, I worked real hard on this one:]

I see what you did there with that title.

This is quite the rendition of my character. The proportions are just too much fun to look at. And I love the ghost's expression.

Also, the amount of atmosphere you were able to instill with such few details in the background is incredible.

You have made me one happy individual.

Nicol3 responds:

Thanks! <3

Nice design.

I really like the details you're putting into these, such as the effects on the speech bubbles, and how you keep incorporating panels into the clouds.

Plus a mask, umbrella, and pocket watch is a winning combination in my book.

Luxembourg responds:

Hey.
I think that the little details are a great way to exercise the style and mood of this, and I think they really add to it. Part of the reason I didn't continue off the first page was that I hated working in a panel format, so now I'm kind of avoiding a normal panel format and going off in my own directions with how it's laid out. Dresden Codak inspired that. I also didn't have any idea what I wanted to do with the plot, but that's still pretty shaky.
Thanks for the review, Heavy. I appreciate it, and I'm glad you like it.

I feel like I know them.

I really love the atmosphere of this comic. It also has a very aesthetically pleasing layout. It's very reminiscent of a descriptive piece I had to write for my creative writing class. I wrote about a very surrealistic city where the sun only showed up one or twice a year, and where peculiar creatures dressed in masks and harlequin costumes would appear, to kidnap children and burn buildings down. These characters of yours seem like they would fit into that city well.

Luxembourg responds:

Your idea sounds a lot like the idea behind the comic, and that makes me feel so unoriginal. Mine is of a city where it's always raining and everybody always wears a mask of some sort. These two, who I've yet to reveal the names of, wander the parts of the city that are abandoned for reasons yet to be revealed. It still has a long way to go, honestly.
I'm intending on expanding it, I just don't know when I'll have the time or motivation to make the next part.
I'm really glad you like it. I personally felt pleased with the layout, especially with the cloud in the top-middle area. Atmosphere and aesthetic are things that I'm a nut for. Thanks for the review and the very kind score!
